What is it?
I am a geography nerd. And Roameo is for geography nerds. It’s where you click on random points on the planet and get fun trivia about whatever unfortunate location you landed on.
Sometimes it’s:
- Rome
- The middle of an ocean
- A place with no name and no interest in being named
I wanted to build this because..
- Clicking maps is addictive
- Earth is large
- Most places never get clicked
- Also “what’s here?” is an underrated question.

- VS Code & Github Copilot
- OpenRouter for LLM
- Vercel for deployment
How does it work?
- globe.gl gives lat/long
- OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) maps lat/long to a location
- LLM generates trivia
- (Yes, it’s that simple)
